BACH IN THE SUBWAYS

2020 location TBA! Please check back on November 1 for details.

Musicians from the Bach Week Festival will give a free pop-up performance at 12:30 PM on Friday, March 20. Our 2018 and 2019 Bach in the Subways performances were held in the stunning skylit lobby of Chicago's historic landmark Rookery Building.

Bach in the Subways promotes classical music through free concerts in public spaces. The grassroots movement began in 2010 with one cellist performing Bach's solo Cello Suites in New York City's subway stations.

Conducted by Bach Week’s music director Richard Webster, this annual birthday celebration typically features an ensemble of about 25 choristers (including members of Bella Voce) with a core chamber ensemble from the Bach Week Festival Orchestra. Not to be missed!

As with all Bach in the Subway-endorsed events, the musicians are donating their services.

If you're in the Loop during the lunch hour on Friday, March 20, please drop by. Details to follow…
